Vander Von Kochar is a philosopher, writer, film and theatre director.

Kochar’s films have been recognized at international film festivals for their unique approach to narrative and experimental storytelling and a bold mixture of magical realsim and social commentary. They were dubbed into French, Spanish and German and released over 50 countries. 

 He was awarded Best Feature Film Director at the 2021 Culver City Film Festival and

Best Documentary Director at the 2023 Chambal Film Festival in India.

Vander's films were included into curriculum of major American uivesrities and he has  staged sold-out large-scale theater productions and multimedia projects. He is a recipient of the LA Weekly Award, a finalist in the Writers Guild of America/Paul Varnum Screenwriting Contest, a William Simon Scholarship recipient in philosophy and a fellow of the Moving Picture Institute.

 

Vander studied at Yerevan State Insititute of Theatre and Cinema and philosophy at the Pontifical University of  St. Thomas Aquinas "Angelicum" in Rome. He has written and lectured extensively on metaphysics, philospophy of science and politics, film and Dimensionism.
